Your name/about yourself ?

My name is Sarah Sapora. I'm a self-love mentor and wellness advocate who loves strength training, cowboy boots, and helping other women to tap into their personal power. I feel called to "bang down the door"  to the wellness and personal growth space for women who have felt the only solution being offered to them is a diet. For all the folks who've never felt like the belonged, or who had to buy a pen or a tote bag because the tee shirts never came in their size. I believe in health and wellness from the inside out, and creating long-lasting positive change from a place of massive self-love.

 

What do you do?

By trade, I'm a creative marketer. By passion, I have moved my life in the direction of being a mentor, inspirational speaker, content creator, and a writer. I aim to support women in their own journey of wellness and self-love. 

 

Why did you get into that?

I started talking online so that other women would never feel as sad or as invisible as I know I have in my own life. To show women that they are not alone, that they are valuable and more powerful than they can believe. 

 

How did you get it started?

I had worked as a body-positive figure in women's plus size fashion for many years. When my parents both had medical scares I realized my health needed to be addressed. I wasnt ready to make changes in my own life till I realized that I was making the same mistakes in my personal life agian and again. That was when I decided it was time to look at the stuff that wasn't working for me in life; I knew I wanted MORE but I wasnt sure how to get there. From my years blogging in plus fashion, I knew if I was experiencing something, that countless other women were was well. I decided to share my journey to becoming happier and healthier with others so I I could show what it REALLY looked like. Not some glossy Instagram of "before and after" pics, but to share the process; the good and bad and everything in between. 

 

Name 3 words to describe you best?

Feisty. Genuine. Warm-hearted. 

 

Which females influence you the most?

Dolly Parton. She forged her own path with courage, has humor and kindness, is a badass businesswoman, and is also deeply committed to serving others with her platform. 

 

What struggles have you over come and how?

I am constantly uncovering and overcoming struggles; wellness and growth is a journey and not an end destination. I refer to it as "soul archeology." When we really want to make a life-long change we have to be willing to be honest about the things we do and the things we believe that do not serve us. The two biggest ideas I have worked on are my understanding of faith in the Universe around me (control freak here!) and also limiting beliefs about my own self-worth. 

 

How do you stay positive and focused? 

It's not that I "stay positive" but, more so, that I stay committed, even in the face of fear. Progress and perfection are not the same thing. We take three steps forward and one or two back. The key is to practice continued compassion towards ourselves just as we are throughout the process. I make a choice every day, in my thoughts and actions, to be kind to who I am with what I believe and how I treat my body and life. When I falter, I simply remind myself to chose again. I remind myself that every day is another chance to come back to my truth. 

 

Any words of advice for future girl bosses following in your footsteps?

Be bold in the truth of who you are. Life will (quite literally) rise up to when you step into your truth without apology. Don't spend time focused on being like someone else. Find YOU. This may change over time, but always be mindful and aware of who you are. Live this with authenticity; there is only one of you and the world needs your light

"The pathway to healing occurs when you love yourself so much that the darkness from the past can no longer coexist with your faith in the light of the present moment."
