Your name/about yourself ?

Hi, I'm Jeairy Segarra I'm a mother of two beautiful girls, small business co-owner (@KOMOKOCO), motivational speaker, blogger and burn survivor (@lifescarsjsv).

What do you do?

I created an organic brand (KOMOKOCO) inspired on different needs that family members, friends or myself have or had after my accident. I created a blog (Life Scars) telling my story and sharing inspirational and motivational content.

Why did you get into that?

My parents always taught me how valuable and rewarding it is to help others.

How did you get it started?

With KOMOKOCO I started making my own natural skin care products when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter. I had great results during my pregnancy and postpartum. After my father lost his job a few years ago, we decided to make it a business and be able to meet other people's needs in a natural way and bring wellness into their lives. I've been blessed to create over 35 different products that are effective without the use of chemicals. When it comes to Life Scars, I decided to share my story and be open about who I am because I can see and feel the need to educate our society. Unfortunately we live in a very superficial world, where our minds are been bombarded with stereotypes and labels. It is time to understand what beauty is, where it comes from, how important it is to accept, embrace and love who we are with our flaws and good qualities.

Name 3 words to describe you best?

Optimistic, unique and persistent.

Which females influence you the most?

My mom and my dear friend Dharma.

What struggles have you over come and how?

As a result of my accident I have a few physical limitations, still I try to live my life as everyone else does. The one big issue has always been bullying. I've been bullied pretty much my entire life for different reasons even before I got burned in 1998. My parents taught me at a young age to believe in myself and to never allow anyone to belittle me. This helped me develop a tough skin and be confident about myself.

How do you stay positive and focused?

Through prayers, my faith and believing that nothing is impossible in life as long as I have God as my compass. I keep in mind that happiness and love comes from within, that negative opinions are not personal, they are not a reflection of who I am, is just a reflection of what other people have in their heart.

Any words of advice for future girl bosses following in your footsteps?

Don't be afraid to fail, failure teaches us what we should improve to make our goals come a reality. Never be afraid to ask for help, and to be who you are, make improvements and changes in your character that will make you better as a woman, be a better version of yourself every single day. Accept, embrace and love yourself completely and let your beauty shine through your eyes and smile.

What is one quote you stand by?

"We might not be in control of all things that happens to us, but we are in control of a big part of the outcome".
